England winger Anthony Gordon has admitted he was left frustrated after playing just one minute at Euro 2024.
The Newcastle winger went into the tournament in top form but then-national manager Gareth Southgate only featured once in Germany.
He came on as a substitute in the 89th minute of the group stage draw against Slovenia.
“I’m very disappointed because I had a lot of confidence in myself,” Gordon said.
“I felt like nobody could stop me, especially at that point in the season when I was just going through it,”
“I felt like nobody could protect me, nobody could handle me for more than 90 minutes.”
“I’m feel I am ready to impress people and help the country win this trophy,”
“Imagining what I thought… how it would be, in the end it was disappointing.”
Gordon did not receive or attempt to demand an explanation from Southgate when asked what the England manager had told him about why he was Promotion Ufabet not playing, with Gordon saying: “Nothing. I never asked anything.”
“I’m not that kind of person. I just like to do what needs to be done.”
“I believed in myself, so even when I was on the bench I thought, ‘If he plays me I’ll be ready, I can change the game.’
“But it didn’t happen.”
