Liverpool legend John Arne Riise has revealed he has never forgotten what Craig Bellamy did to him, despite forgiving his former team-mate.
Riise won the Champions League with the Reds in 2005 but two years later he was the victim of a physical attack by Bellamy.
The two got into a fight because Reese refused to sing during the team’s karaoke, and they even got into a fight on the golf course.
Bellamy was upset that Riise had spoken badly to him and hit him with a golf club in his hotel room that evening.
The 43-year-old Riise said he had forgiven his former team-mate years ago but had not forgotten. What Bellamy had done and therefore did not want to have anything to do with him anymore.
“I don’t have any contact or want to be friends with Craig Bellamy right now. Because a team-mate shouldn’t have done what he did to me,” he said.
“Teammates were always fighting and things happened in training. But he crossed the line, so he’s not someone I want to have in my life.”
“I have nothing against him. He does what he wants and I saw him spend two or three good years with Vincent Kompany at Burnley and I am delight he is doing well.”
“But he’s not the person I want in my life. I can forgive, UFABET but I can’t forget.”
“What happened between us has long been forgiven, but you shouldn’t forget what he did, because it was too much.”
Bellamy was fine £80,000 over the incident but he still play alongside Riise in Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Barcelona. With the Welshman celebrating with a golf swing.
Both were involve in the goals that night, with Bellamy setting up Riise for the winner.
Bellamy has apologised for the incident, calling it ‘pathetic’, ‘utterly stupid’ and ‘drunken and abusive behaviour’ in his autobiography.
